Caravan to the Hinterlands

A caravan is forming. When it reaches the isolated city of Idyllshire it will trade for rare materials, aid resettling immigrants, open up scientific explorations and a new connection to a lost past.This is a casual, lightweight event series meant to encourage open world RP and give participants a jumping off point for their own stories.

The Hooks

Conscripts AE rescued from The White Owl want to settle down at a new home and build lives for themselves. These refugees, including Tebin, have chosen Idyllshire. For him, this is a chance to see his old brothers-in-arms secure before fulfilling an oath he made.AE, always looking for ways to turn a smart profit, is trading oils, textiles and unrefined minerals for raw opal found in The Hinterlands. Ul'dah's goldsmiths will be thrilled. Additional caravaners will need be hired.Lucas has his eyes set on gathering alchemical goods from the old arboretum thanks to previous shipments secured by Iona Falconsoul. He can't be the only alchemist with such a thing in mind. And others might be interested in delving into the old libraries...For those such as Cassandra with a connection to Sharlayan, the old colony represents a broken piece of the past. What memories await there?STARP has been hired to help with logistics and support. It will also be able to trade for technology to help improve carriage and airship components.

The Plan

This is meant to be an easy RP series for people to jump in and out of. Maybe you're part of the caravan. Maybe you're jumping in here and there to help out with security. Maybe you have your own goal. We don't want to put too much emphasis on anything but welcoming people we've invited to participate. Don't feel like you or your character has to be there every step of the way, but please do if you want!The "timeline" will feel a bit sped along as the schedule seeks to include people with a variety of time zones without dragging on too long. That should let us then transition to reacting to 5.5 once people have had a chance to play through it.Some event times will have planned activities. Participants are encouraged to make their own as well, either on event days, or between them. If you want to offer to DM something fun, let Lucas know and that can be added to the schedule for people to see.Feel free to RP out in the world as part of the caravan even when nothing is scheduled for the day.

Friday, April 16th at 9 p.m. EST

Load up the Caravan at The Caravanserai. Come hang out, help out, feed caravaners or ready your own travel gear.

Wednesday, April 21 at 9 p.m. EST

The caravan will stop at Buscarron's Druthers. Help guard from the wilds and elements, grab a drink after a long day on the road, or hang out. Participants are encouraged to make their own freeform RP and situations.

Saturday, April 24 at 9 p.m. EST

The caravan arrives in The Dravanian Forelands. Before it advances into Idyllshire, it will need to negotiate passage through The Arkhitekton and The Paths of Creation. Come help deal with these challenges. Or perhaps you have your own business here? The caravan will then continue into Idyllshire. Players are encouraged to make their own freeform RP. An encounter with the locals will be DM'd.

Sunday, April 25 at 3 p.m. EST

The caravan is securely in Idyllshire. Do you want to help the immigrants get settled? Do you have trade or business with the locals? Do you want to explore Sharlayan ruins to the southwest? It's up to you. Players are encouraged to make their own freeform RP. A quest to help the immigrants will be DM'd.

Saturday, May 1 at 3 p.m. EST

The caravan remains in Idyllshire. Do you want to help the immigrants get settled? Do you have trade or business with the locals? Do you want to explore Sharlayan ruins to the southwest?
